DP set to debut groundbreaking Neuranix device at BAA 2023

DP Medical will be showcasing a groundbreaking audiology diagnostic device from Neuranix at this year’s British Academy of Audiology (BAA) Conference.

The DP team will be at stands D02 and C02 throughout the two-day event, taking place on the 2nd and 3rd November, offering demonstrations of Neuranix’s innovative med-wave® device – designed to perform gentle, non-invasive middle ear analysis in a matter of seconds.

DP was named the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for the device in September.

Based on patented PLAI™ methodology, the device performs a multi-frequency test using a probe that sends chirp signals from 100 to 3000 Hz that are then analysed at frequencies from 100 to 1500Hz.

Med-wave® processes the data collected and compares it with its proprietary database of pathologies in order to offer quick, painless, objective assessment of ear health status.

Owen Pemberton, commercial director at DP Medical, said: “We’re really looking forward to showing BAA attendees the capabilities of Neuranix’s med-wave® device.

“It’s a truly pioneering tool that we’re sure ENT specialists and paediatricians will welcome.

“Faster, more gentle and less invasive ear testing will benefit both the practitioner and the patient alike, and we’re sure it’ll make its mark at this year’s BAA Conference in November.”

This event will be the 19th Annual Conference of the British Academy of Audiology.

The Academy aims to help its members develop their professional skills, provide a benchmark for quality and professional standards, and promote audiology as an autonomous profession.

Conference plays a large part in the provision of continuing professional development for audiologists and provides a channel for sharing best practice, guidance and knowledge.
