Meet the Team: Ingrid Wright
15 August 2025 Following the announcement of three new hires here at DP Medical, we’re putting each of our new recruits in the spotlight. First up, it’s Ingrid Wright – Territory Manager for Ireland:
Originally from Durban, South Africa, Ingrid made Ireland her home in 2020 and is based in the ‘sunny’ southeast in Wexford.
Tell us a little about your career history:
I’ve worked in the medical and healthcare industry for almost 40 years now, starting out many moons ago as a diagnostic radiographer before transitioning into medical sales. Over the years, I’ve gained experience across various specialties and companies, including Stryker and GE Healthcare, and have developed a strong background in account management, clinical support, capital sales and customer service. Joining DP Medical is an exciting next step in my career.
What does your role at DP Medical involve?
I’m responsible for supporting healthcare professionals and institutions across the region with DP Medical’s range of innovative medical solutions. My role involves building strong relationships with customers, providing product demonstrations, offering after-sales support, and ensuring that we’re delivering the highest standards of service and care to the clinicians and teams we work with.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
What stands out most is the team culture – everyone is approachable, collaborative, and genuinely passionate about the work we do. I also enjoy the variety of the role, from capital equipment to consumables, training, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in patient care through the solutions we offer.
When you’re not at work, what do you get up to in your spare time?
I enjoy being creative, whether it be building/making something or painting (not walls though). Exploring the beautiful, historical, and cultural sites of Ireland, preferably on my motorcycle, and I try to get to see my gorgeous grandson in the UK at least every six weeks. It’s important to have a good balance between professional and personal life.
And finally, tell us something not everyone knows about you…
I drove my first car, an old Austin pedal car that my father motorised with a lawnmower engine, at 18 months old. This, however, did require both parents running alongside trying to govern my speed! I rode my first motorbike, also home built by my wonderful father, at just four and a half years old. And…my natural hair colour used to be black!
