Trio of appointments welcomed to DP Medical

Three new faces have joined the DP Medical team as the company strengthens its service division as well as adding a new sales manager to its ranks.

Gemma Vandermeer takes up a new role in the company - service coordinator – to support the service function of the business.

Gemma’s always been in sales and customer focused jobs mainly in retail, but her last position saw her spend 15 years in engineering in an office role manager.

As a service coordinator, Gemma is involved in lots of different elements such as sales, purchasing, engineer co ordinating, job bookings, phone calls in and out, chasing parts, booking in parts from suppliers as well as engineers for broken or servicing, running delivery notes, dealing with service stock and raising service or repair cases on salesforce. She said: “You really do have to be organised, methodical and deal with multiple things at once so it’s been a challenge as it is so fast paced but one that I am relishing as working under pressure is what I enjoy most about the role. I hope to work my way up the ladder to hopefully become management in time.

“I feel I am helping the team as before I came along other staff would be doing parts of my role so it allows me to take some pressure off them so they can focus on their job and then collectively we can provide a better service for the customer which is what it is all about. I’m really pleased to be playing a part in that.”

Bryn Berry has become the midlands and north Wales service engineer which involves service and installation on various equipment across that region. This can entail anything from installing new XiON equipment in Birmingham and then medical couches in Colwyn Bay! Bryn comes from a military background having spent seven years in the British forces as a British Commando. He then moved on to field engineering, specialising in fitness equipment, varying from peloton bikes to gym treadmills, both commercial and domestic which gave him an insight into basic software and knowledge of electrical parts.

Said Bryn: “I really enjoy the different jobs I am involved in and places I visit as it means every day is different and I’m constantly learning. I am really looking forward to adapting my previous experience and enhancing my skills as we move forward. It’s all been great so far!”

Finally, Lewis Walsh who is area sales manager south west and south Wales. Lewis’ most recent role was for a pharmaceutical company working within respiratory medicine, COPD and asthma, working there for five years and building strong relationships with GPs, nurses and pharmacists across Berkshire.

Said Lewis: “My role at DP Medical revolves around my customers, having in depth conversations about specific requirements they may have and how we can meet and exceed their expectations. The hope is we enhance the service we provide as a company offering the best support for our customers and ultimately the highest standard of care for the patient. I have a varied product and customer and department range, from ENT, SLT, theatre and gynae departments, which keeps the job very interesting!

“I am really enjoying learning about our fantastic offerings and how we can make a difference to our customers. My hopes are to make the Southwest region the highest performing within DP Medical – it will take some time but the challenge is there!”
