Meet the Team: Jay Bowers

What does your role with DP Medical involve?

My role includes attending customer sites to provide assistance with repairs, installations and further training.

What do you like most about working at DP Medical?

I enjoy meeting new customers and building a rapport with end users. I like gaining peoples’ trust so they know they will always receive the best possible solution to any issues that may occur. For me, customer service is a key fundamental part of my role and it’s something I take great pride in.

Where are you based?

I am based near Wakefield in west Yorkshire. My working area covers all of Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, North Wales, Durham, parts of Lincolnshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

Please provide a brief overview of your career history to date

I served in the British Army for seven years as a formation reconnaissance soldier. Whilst serving I performed multiple duties in UK mainland and overseas. After leaving the military I gained an interest into internal combustion engines which brought me into engineering roles including working on forklifts, side loaders, straddle carriers and cranes. My most recent employment was working for a market leading firefighting equipment and vehicle company as a field engineer working on aviation fire vehicles, municipal vehicles and firefighting robotics.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy tinkering in my garage on vehicles, small machinery, and small bits of fabrication. I also enjoy sports and shooting and generally being outdoors. Tell us something not many people may know about you: I am a diehard Emmerdale fan and cannot miss a single episode (must be accompanied by a cup of tea).
