Meet the Team: Thomas Cryan

Where are you from and how long have you worked for DP Medical?

I’m from Dublin, Ireland. I’ve worked for DP Medical for two-and-a-half-years.

What does a typical day in your role at DP Medical involve?

Most days are spent with customers, either helping them select the correct equipment for the service they provide or helping with ongoing training or support.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Simply, it’s the people. I really enjoy installing equipment and training the new users. And I love the feedback we get and seeing the benefits the equipment makes to patients. I’m also lucky that this job lets me meet lots of interesting people from all walks of life.

What makes DP Medical stand out from the crowd?

We don’t just provide equipment and then disappear. I feel when someone purchases equipment from us, we become part of their team and try our very best to make sure the equipment is used to its fullest. We are very patient focused and always recommend the equipment which will be best for the patients and their clinicians.

When you’re not at work, what do you get up to in your spare time?

I have a very busy house! We have two brilliant boys aged five and eight. Most of my free time revolves around their activities and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

And finally, tell us something not everyone knows about you…

I’m a big martial arts fan. I spent my youth boxing but these days, when I can find some time, I love to train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. This has been difficult with Covid but hopefully better days are ahead.
